ABOUT US

Our Beginning

The idea for Mizo Toys began on a quiet afternoon in Channapatna, Karnataka, a town celebrated worldwide for its beautifully handcrafted wooden toys.

Our founder, Amit, was visiting the Channapatna Crafts Park with his wife and their young daughter. As they walked through the manufacturing facilities, they were mesmerized by the skill with which artisans turned simple pieces of wood into colorful toys full of life.

Nearby, a group of school children visiting for an exhibition gathered around the artisans. Their eyes sparkled with excitement as they watched toys being shaped, painted, and brought to life. Their hands reached out eagerly to touch the toys.

There was something truly magical about that moment.

Despite their beauty and tradition, these wooden toys struggled to compete with mass-produced plastic toys that were cheaper, louder, and filled with electronic features.

And that thought sparked a simple yet powerful question.

What if wooden toys could sing?

What if they could tell stories?

Where Craft Meets Technology

What followed was a journey of curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration.

The idea of placing a compact electronic module inside a handcrafted wooden toy was something completely new for the artisans. Together, they explored ways to integrate technology without disturbing the natural beauty and soul of the toy.

The goal was never to replace tradition — but to enhance it.

After months of testing and refining, the first prototype was finally ready.

The Birth of Mizo Toys

Mizo Toys was born from that single experience — bringing together traditional wooden craftsmanship and thoughtful technology.

Our mission is simple: to create toys that spark curiosity, imagination, and meaningful play while honoring the rich heritage of Channapatna artisans.

We believe toys do not need to be louder or faster to capture a child’s attention.

Sometimes, they just need to be a little more magical.
